Age Concern, Estepona and Manilva, Forthcoming Events

1. Fancy watching a film over a cup of coffee? Then the Age Concern Drop-In-Centre in Calle Zaragoza, Estepona could be the venue for you on the last Wednesday of every month. Films, documentaries, all will be selected to ensure that you enjoy watching and enjoy the company. The DIC opens at 10.00 and you will be warmly welcomed!

Ah yes – the next DVD session is being held on Wednesday 24th September.

2. On Wednesday 8th October the Age Concern Drop-In-Centre in Calle Zaragoza, Estepona will host a free (but limited numbers) make-up session starting at 10.30 a.m.

Monica McGreer will be running the session and will demonstrate and advise on how make-up can enhance the way older people look both to others and themselves. To reserve a place call 915318234 and leave your details or call 608458555

3. Age Concern has arranged a talk, in English, on teleasistencia, to be given by ST Servicios de Teleasistencia. It will be held in the Age Concern Drop-in-Centre situated in Calle Zaragoza, Estepona on Thursday 2nd October at 11.00. This will interest people who are non-resident but require a tele care system, or people who are resident but do not meet the criteria for the local authority to supply a system. Teleasistencia allows a person, at the press of a button, to speak to a someone about the problem (say a fall) they have so that assistance can be sent. Help is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

For older people who require help or advice Age Concern operate a telephone service called Lifeline. This gives the individual a direct point of contact with the charity.
