British Consulate Garden Party in Aid of Age Concern
Do not miss out on the fabulous Spring Garden Party being organised by the British Consulate in aid of Age Concern on May 27th.It is being held in the Sohail Castle, Fuengirola from 18.00 to 21.00.
The British Ambassador to Spain, Giles Paxman, will be in attendance along with other leading officials and local personalities. Drinks and canapes will be available as well as entertainment and a grand raffle. Tickets to the event cost 15€ and are available through a ticket hotline – 952561245, or by emailing tonyaldous55@yahoo.co.uk.
All of the proceeds will be donated to Age Concern Espana who will use the funds to train volunteer workers who are part of the national casework service. Caseworkers provide a service that includes the assessment of client needs, including befriending and hospital visiting, as well as organising charity events and computer training. Caseworkers undergo training to help them to be able to assist individuals to overcome financial poverty through income maximisation, dealing with debt, benefit entitlement, and provide information and advice on activities and services available to reduce social exclusion and to support older people to live full and independent lives.
