Age Concern, Estepona and Manilva Press Release – 21st March 2010
Age Concern, Estepona and Manilva at the Foreign Residents Day
Estepona Council, in conjunction with Estepona Foreign Residents Associations, is organising a Foreign Residents Day (or International Day) for Sunday 18th April. Age Concern will be there running two stalls – one selling teas, coffees, and produce of all kinds, on the other there will be a tombola and items of all sorts for sale, including clothes. To make the event a huge success we need your support – both in produce to sell, and in running the stall. We need cakes, biscuits, quiches (always a great favourite), pies, sausage rolls…., anything edible! If you can help in any way contact us now on 951318234 and leave your details or email tonyaldous55@yahoo.co.uk.
Even if you cannot help come along on the day for a great time out as there will be entertainment all day as well as dozens of stalls to investigate!
Age Concern, Estepona and Manilva, Sponsored Walk
Do not forget our sponsored walk on Sunday May 2nd. There will be two options – an easy river and country walk of about 4 kilometres, and a mountain track walk to the ruins of the Castle of Nicola which will take about 4.5 hours return. Both walks will start at Laguna Beach, Estepona – the harder walk starts at 10.00, the easier one at 11.30.
All walkers will receive a reflective jacket and water, and plenty of marshals will be on hand to guide people on their way. As well as the walk a photographic competition will be held (snaps of the walk), you can buy lunch at Chiringuito Crusoe or simply bring a picnic to eat on the beach, and throughout the afternoon there will be music, fun, and games!
All that’s needed now is you – either as a walker or as a sponsor. Interested? Then contact us either on 951318234 and leave your details, or Richard on 952 913174, or email tonyaldous55@yahoo.co.uk. All monies raised will go towards supporting our volunteers working in the community with older people who need our help.
