Age Concern, Estepona and Manilva, Donation from the British Association of Marbella

Age Concern was invited to a coffee morning run by the British Association of Marbella on the 7th December. The Vice-President of B.A.M., Frances Newman, presented Eileen Dry, President of Age Concern, Estepona and Manilva, with a generous cheque from monies the Association members had raised for charitable causes. This donation will be used for the benefit of older people who need help and advice – from Marbella to Sotogrande. Eileen told members about the work of Age Concern and how important such donations are in supporting the work of the volunteers in the community. Age Concern has been operating for some 8 years and in that time has assisted hundreds of people as well as opening a shop and a Drop-In-Centre. More volunteers are always needed to both work in the shop and in the community. More information can be obtained by calling Eileen on 608458555.

The British Association of Marbella has successfully grown over 21 years by encouraging social interaction among members with many enjoyable social/cultural events along with raising donations for charities. BAM Membership is open to people of all nationalities who speak and understand some English. More information can be obtained by calling Pat on 952830959 or by popping along to a coffee morning held on Wednesdays at the Acebuche Café (next to the Baveria Hotel)in Marbella at 11 a.m.
