Once again the Knit n Natter Group have made clothes for the Premature Baby Unit at Malaga Materno Hospital. This time the grand total was 1236 items, consisting of 400 baby jackets, 70 mittens, 188 booties, 100 blankets for the incubators, 90 pants, 364 hats, 24 teddies. These items have been produced over the last five months.

The nurses were again very surprised by the volume of the donation, as were many people walking along the Paseo. Many people commented on the fantastic items, and the colours of the yarns and donated cash to enable us to buy more yarn.

If you have any odds and ends of yarn, we would be happy to take them from you, or balls of yarn not used. We can’t accept mohair, or chunky yarn as these are not suitable for the babies.

If you would like to join us to knit, or to natter, you are more than welcome. We meet on a Monday and Wednesday from 11am until 1pm at San Torini Greek Restaurant, on the Paseo Marítimo, Torreblanca (near Cheers Bar).

We can supply the yarn, needles and patterns, so even if you are on holiday, there’s no excuse for not joining us as everything is provided.
