Today whilst visiting Cudeca in Arroyo de la Miel, someone or some people working together handlifted my wallet from my handbag whilst it was around my neck and I wasn´t even aware of it until I went to get out my car keys. They stole 180 euros, credit card, driving licence, social security card and two residencias. Within 5 minutes they had withdrawn 300 pounds from a nearby cash till. It is possible they were 2 or 3 young women working in a gang. Knowing the precise moment they cashed the money, we are waiting to identify the Bank source and see if they have been recorded on CCTV. These people are clearly very quick and ruthless!
The time of the theft was approximately 11.15am

Yesterday evening (Wednesday 13th August) I had my purse stolen in a lift at Malaga airport. Four youths entered the lift and stole the purse from my bag in a matter of seconds between floors, without me realising. Minutes later on discovering it missing my husband reported it to the police parked nearby, who showed a distinct lack of interest. Not a wonderful advert for the unsuspecting tourist arriving at the airport looking forward to a nice holiday!

The same happened to me and my wife on our first visit to benalmadena six years ago.Two spanish ladies selling roses on the beach near the marina approached my wife to buy a rose and insisted that i got my wallet out to pay for the rose. When i did the staarted to grap my wallet i moved away and put my wallet back in my pocket not thinking. But when i got back to the hotel they had actually took about 600 euros from my wallet they are very fast and very clever.so from now on my wallet stays in my front pocket and never comes out in the street.Despite this happening it as not dettered me and my wife going year after with our family every christmas.

This is almost an exact copy of what happened to my wife in Granada outside market, she had her purse stolen from her zipped up bag, they took the cash and used the credit card to withdraw 280 euros. The bank and the credit card company refused to repay the money withdrawn saying it was not possible unless they had the pin number. The pin number was not with the card and never has been, these thieves are evidently highly organised and professional, since it happened to us,I have heard of at least 5 other similar occurences, the banks are just refusing to admit it is happening

I am so sorry to hear that! it must have caused you a great deal of distress.
How did they withdraw the money from the bank cash till....would they not have needed a pin number?
After reading on this weeks sur the efforts the recepients of such a crime have to go to to prove their innonence in such cases I do not wish ever to be in your shoes. Best wishes!

my husband had his wallet lifted in the same way as we got off the bus at malaga airport. they distracted us and they are very good at it so you need to be alert at all times!
