Periana is known for its olive oil, but it also has close associations with wheat! The weekend from May 14th to 18th the village celebrates is annual festivities in honour of San Isidro, and there will be parties, parades, sporting events and all the usual celebrations. The big day is the 15th when an offering of tons of wheat is made to the saint!
